Behind YummyHack
Hi there! I’m Amelia Bennett—creator of Yummy Hack, enthusiastic taste-tester, full-time flavor chaser, and your new kitchen companion. I’m 30, based right here in the U.S., and I’ve spent most of my life chasing that magical mix of comfort, curiosity, and a little chaos that happens when you cook from the heart.

Growing up in North Carolina, food was never just about nourishment—it was a way of gathering, storytelling, and expressing love. The scent of cornbread in the oven, collard greens simmering low and slow, or peach cobbler cooling on the counter still brings me right back to my childhood. My roots are Southern, and while I’ve since developed a passion for global flavors, that warm, down-home spirit never left my cooking.
If I had to pick one dish that truly defines me, it would be shrimp and grits. Creamy, comforting, a little spicy, and endlessly adaptable—it’s got a foot in tradition and a hand reaching for creativity. I love the way it feels like a hug in a bowl, yet you can give it your own twist every time.
I didn’t come up through fancy kitchens or culinary schools. I learned through trial, error, and a whole lot of joyful mess. That’s why I created Yummy Hack—to share those small discoveries that make cooking feel less intimidating and a lot more fun. I believe cooking should be joyful, not stressful. That’s my kitchen philosophy: Progress over perfection. Flavor over fuss. Fun over formality.

I’ll confess, I talk to my food. I don’t mean polite little “you’re almost done” comments—I mean full-on pep talks to a loaf of banana bread or a gentle scolding to a stubborn pot of rice. I also dance in the kitchen. A lot. Usually while waiting for something to come to a boil. And yes, I always taste as I go—and sometimes that means there’s slightly less to serve than planned.
But that’s what I love about cooking—it’s personal. It’s messy. And it’s a beautiful, ever-changing adventure.
So whether you’re cooking in a big, bustling family kitchen or a tiny apartment with two burners and a dream, I’m here for you. Let’s cook something delicious together. Let’s try, fail, laugh, and nail it next time. Welcome to Yummy Hack—where we keep it simple, soulful, and seriously good.
